LSR Molding

LSR molding, also known as liquid silicone rubber injection molding or liquid injection molding, is a manufacturing process used to manufacture liquid silicone parts. The process mainly uses liquid silicone (agent A + agent B + agent C coloring agent) as raw material, and the ratio of agent A and agent B is controlled by a dosing device (usually 1:1), and then the static mixer is used to fully mix. The mixed liquid silicone is then injected into the injection tube for liquid silicone injection molding.


The principle of LSR liquid injection molding is to use platinum as a catalyst, under a certain temperature and pressure, to make the liquid silicone material of A and B components solidify quickly. This process can be produced stably in large quantities through multi-cavity molds, and when the product needs color design, it can be equipped with a color pump set and a color metering device.

In the molding process, usually under the condition that the mold temperature is 110~130 Celsius degrees, after a long period of 150-250 seconds (the molding time will vary according to the thickness, size, material and other factors of the product), the curing reaction of the silicone material is triggered to form the final product. The LSR molding process produces silicone parts with high quality, precision, consistency and durability.

 

Among the many LSR molding factories, there are not many manufacturers with precision technology LSR molding capabilities. Precision LSR injection molding technology not only relies on advanced mold design and processing, and the performance of LSR injection molding machines, but also inseparable from the rich experience of operators. With more than 30 years of expertise in this area, we will briefly describe the types of production and development of our products in the field of liquid silicone products.


At first, our factory specialized in manufacturing silicone keypads and silicone keyboard covers. These products place extremely high demands on the elasticity and tensile strength of the material, which is why we have carried out rigorous impact resistance tests and lifetime tests. This experience laid a solid foundation for the subsequent successful development of silicone valves.


With the rise of waterproof mobile phones, we began to develop the overmolding technology of liquid silicone and other materials according to the needs of brand customers. Faced with the challenges of small product size, high precision requirements and strict tolerances, we have continuously upgraded our mold processing technology, LSR molding equipment and production environment, and successfully launched a variety of precision waterproof overmoled silicone parts that meet IP67/IP68 standards.


In 2016, our factory successfully developed the PlayStation VR face mask for SONY, and simultaneously provided a medical-grade LSR overmolded cleansing brush for LG's new products. These success stories have earned us the trust of many customers in the smart wearable, medical and beauty industries to start customizing liquid silicone parts for them.


In 2019, we came into contact with the new silicone material- optical liquid silicone raw material, and successfully solved the urgent need for customers and developed a light guide silicone condenser for automotive ADB headlights. In the field of LED lighting silicone lens production, we have successfully met the brand customer's demand for silicone lenses for high-power LED lighting with our advanced LSR molding technology.


Since the beginning of 2020, we have been working on the development of LSR molding technology in liquid silicone and two different materials, mainly for the speaker sound unit of active noise cancelling (ANC) headphones. This kind of product has extremely high requirements for the uniformity of the wall thickness of the silicone, and our factory currently mainly processes the silicone earphone speaker diaphragm with a thickness of 0.05-0.1mm, and the size tolerance is strictly controlled at plus or minus 0.01mm.
